This project is an overall interior design for the commercial area of the Reddot Design Museum Xiamen. Reddot brings together classic designs from all over the world, like design stars shining in the vast universe, creating a unique Reddot Museum. With “Reddot Universe” as the theme, the space is wrapped with a unified and inclusive intention, leading the audience into a diverse design world. Through the overall shaping that is full of possibilities and is like a cosmic background board, it creates endless possibilities for constantly updated and unique Reddot products.
In this project, I am mainly responsible for parts from the idea to the refinement before implementation, including creative ideas, design refinement, spatial design, furniture design, and modeling.
Through a unified wall interface language, the overall space atmosphere is set. The design of the scene follows the foundation of strong adaptability and high variability. Through modular furniture, various forms of display are possible. Product display and visual effects are displayed on a unified interface in a rich display manner, making the site’s display full of richness and variability in unity.
Surrounded by continuous wooden element walls, the shops and exhibition spaces originally scattered in many places on the site have a homogeneous and flexible background intention, forming a unified and intimate visual perception. The bright metallic color of the aluminum profiles interspersed among them adds a sense of calmness and structural feeling to the scene. As the most eye-catching part of the space, the column is used as the core interface for carrying information and becomes a highlight that escapes the site.
The same design technique has also been extended to the spaces of restaurants and cafes. The wood color of the ocean board and the metallic color of the aluminum collide with the long interspersed light boxes and screens, which not only provides functionality but also adds a rich level of experience.
