This project is designed for the UCCA Lab Changsha public art project “Ga Zang”. By extracting the local language and cultural characteristics of Changsha, the installation hopes to connect local culture with citizen consciousness, using literal language as a carrier to present a unique local urban memory and interpersonal relationships in public spaces.

In this project, I am mainly responsible for parts including creative ideas and interactive design.

“Dou Ba“ in Hunanese means to pick up the conversation. By analyzing the language structure of the Hunanese, focusing on its linguistic characteristics, that is the characteristics of modal particles, suffix sounds, and elongated sounds commonly used in sentences. Interesting, fun, and even weird corpus are extracted from the Hunanese dictionary particularly. The basic vocabulary library that forms the interactive text is set up with an interactive design of “Dou Ba”, and the words are randomly fixed to form a conversation mode.

With the intention of a barbecue, it continues to convey a strong neighborly and intimate interpersonal relationship. Based on Changsha’s unique language culture and local life interests, we create a “Dou Ba Ho” interactive experience that emphasizes both humor and interactivity, igniting the public’s interest in Changsha’s local culture.
